Books Review #1

Assalamualaikum dan good morning

Entri kali ni buat hybrid sket, English + Bahasa Malaysia sebab ada 2 buku yg akan di-review.

Tajuk: Rancang Wang Sejak Jatuh Cinta
Penulis: Shamsuddin Kadir, Ain Muhammad
Penerbit: PTS Milennia
Harga: RM25.00 (SM)/ RM27 (SS)
Personal rating: 6.5/10.0

Sumber: www.shamsuddinkadir.com

-Akal ataupun emosi
-Sistem sampul surat
-Sekiranya semua orang buta
-Ilmu yang mencuri duit dari poket

Title: Eat That Frog!
Writer: Brian Tracy
Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton
Price: £7.99 (Bought for RM8.00 at Big Bad Wolf Sales)
Personal rating: 8.8/10.0

Very catchy title, which did it work by getting my attention during the sale. One word to describe it: SUPERB. A very nice book on life management, as the caption says “Get More of the Important Things Done Today”.

Although some points are indeed repetition of general knowledge like planning ahead of time and consider the consequences of the action (this is general knowledge right?), other tips are more interesting.

For example:
-Creative procrastination
-Focus on key result areas
-Leverage Special talents
-Identify key constraint

My favorite ‘mindblown’ part is in the preface part as I’m quoting it here: “There is never enough time to do everything you have to do……… But the fact is that you are never going to caught up.”

This book is not too thick in my opinion and hence, will not take much time if you continuously read it.

But please don't eat this frog! >.<

To sum up, both books are good and worth to read if you have some leisure time.

Do drop any comment or suggestion if available. Thanks for reading.

Report: Curious#1

Assalamualaikum and hi

Alhamdulillah, finally the results of the survey are out. Sorry for the delay as it takes more time than expected. Again, thanks so much to those who had participated in this survey. It is so much fun, and quite surprising too. Now I can say.................

"Haa~ finally finished.. it's quite scary when thinking of this issue for too long. It makes me more conscious on everything occured around me that's related to BM. Those tv shows, facebook posts, Seminar baitul muslim 3.0.. not to mention even watching Battlefield made me reflected on getting married"

Also, congrats to those lucky respondents who already received their prize just now. For those who did not get the prize, well… try again next time maybe, if I have extra allowance money *koff koff*.

Just saying, the lucky people were randomly by using random number generator like this one so it can be said that the number picked were totally random.

You can download the ‘informal report’ here.

From here onwards, what I’m going to write is just my own personal view (read: men point of view) from the survey, specifically on Question 7 & 8, which related to the ‘First Initiator’ issue. This may cause discomfort to some people but I’m open to other opinions and critics.

Typically, men should be the first initiator. I personally agree with that.

However, sometimes there are some limitations to our own interpretation and assumption. We are not psychic or having some kind of supernatural to read every situation or know what others think.

So, if you (woman) had done your istikharah and seriously sure that he is the one for you, then it’s not a crime to start first. And by those words,  I also means using the assistance of middle party.

Ah, I forgot to mention, this is only if you are seriously thinking to go for marriage, and not just for fun, dating, something like that.

Also, it’s quite interesting to know what you think about this post on Facebook I found some time earlier *can’t find the link, seems like the admins delete it maybe?*

I know the confessor means well as it is around valentine’s season that time, but still, it left a bad taste in my mouth. So I ended up printscreen it here for the reference. And, you may want to check this video by MTAS too.

That’s all my rant for now. A kind reminder to the readers that this survey is informal and should not be used as references for serious social study due to limitations of this study. Some of the words are my personal opinions and did not strictly follow any format for formal reports.

Thank you for reading, and I’m waiting for comments or critics.

p/s: already have idea for the next social study. Wait for it~

Myths of top-up business

I think top-up business is one of the simplest and most famous businesses in youngsters nowadays, including students. Personally, it is the first business that I seriously got involved in (not including the sales events in mrsm and the one-off used book sale after spm).

I think there a lot of people out there who want to know more about this, so here is some simple information (and myths!) on top-up business from my own minor experience.

Like the name goes, it is the act of selling top-up credit to the buyers by a few ways.

1st, the salesperson buy the top-up cards at usual price (or some may get lower price) from retailers and sell it back at a slightly higher price.

2nd, the salesperson acts as an agent for a company, after registering with the company to open up his/her own company account. The agent will firstly bank-in his money to the personal company account (something like buying the credit from the company). When a buyer wants a top-up, the buyer will give cash to the agent, before the agent sms the company servers to process the transaction and the buyer will have the top-up via easyreload.

The one that I did is the 2nd option, although some company may have different process for top-up transaction. The famous question is, “So where do you get the profit?” By becoming an agent, you will be given lower price for the sold top-up, so there’s the profit. So, if you yourself are using top-up services, basically u already gain the profit even without selling it to others. However, the amount of discount obtained may depends on the company and the type of top-up itself (celcom, maxis, digi).

Some pros of top-up business include:
1.      Very simple and not time-consuming
2.      Almost all people can manage to do it
3.      A lot of people are using top-up credit services
4.      Low starting ‘modal’
5.      It is ALMOST impossible for you to be at loss
6.      It can make you very famous!! (lol, juz kidding) :P

Some myths and cons of top-up business include:
1.      Unless you have A LOT of REGULAR customer, the profit is quite small
2.      Less people are using top-up services nowadays due to development of smartphones and online chatting apps
3.      There’s always chance of wrongly typing the buyer’s phone number (which is your fault so you need to pay for it).
4.      If you are giving loan like ‘top-up first, pay later’ services, there’s possibility for you to be scammed, or worse, you forgot about it.

So basically, this is the simple summary of top-up business. The main reasons for me to do this in the beginning are to find experience and help others (as people don’t need to find places for top-up, just sms/RQ me).

So, if you are interested in starting your own top-up business, it is good idea to do some research on the companies available for this. It is also my pleasure if you want to register yourself with the same company as mine. Seriously, the starting cost will be much lower than directly register with the company.

Feel free to comment here or my fb if you have any question. Thanks for reading.

Survey#1

Assalamualaikum and hi.

--Taknak cakap banyak--

Google search

It's a nice discussion. Orang2 kampung cakap 'Spark new idea'.

So, tetibe datang la curiosity and questions yg mencurah2 (pada masa tu je la. lepas tu dah banyak lupa. silap x tulis terus =_= )

So, here come's a short, simple survey x sampai 10 soalan pon. Reason? Just for fun. And i'm eager to know how others think and what others think. About anything. So, it's a pleasure if u guys can spend some of your leisure time to answer this questions.

Tapi jangan bimbang, xde pekdah aku nak siasat tu nombor sape.

Oh, to make things more interesting, 5 responden yg bertuah akan dipilih secara random utk dapat topup free bernilai RM5 setiap satu. Hanya 1 kali jawap per person. Tak aci jawab 2 kali sebab ada 2 nombor. =_= Just leave your number at the last question.

Until next time. Adios..
